Beer Class | The Stillwater Artisanal Preternatural Cuvée Project
February 13, 2019 04:00 PM until February 13, 2019 05:00 PM
Special Class with Brian Strumke, Stillwater Artisanal
Stillwater Artisanal's newly released Preternatural Cuvée project is believed to be the closest attempt yet towards achieving a true beer-wine hybrid. It required five years to produce an extremely limited amount of 750ml bottles of five different blends.
Leave work early and take this rare opportunity to taste four of these beers and learn about the project from Brian himself. Seating is limited, act now.
From the Brewer
In 2014, Stillwater Artisanal procured a truckload of freshly emptied California wine barrels and our friends at Faction Brewing were gracious enough to help us brew up some base farmhouse ale to fill them with. In the end, roughly two-thirds of the barrels held a blonde saison base and the other third held a dark saison base. We then used the liquid in the barrels to practice extended aging with wild yeast and combining varying amounts of assorted California-sourced grape juices. After 3 years in oak, roughly 2 years conditioning in bottle, and many blending and tasting sessions, we are finally ready to release 5 beautiful beer / wine hybrid blends in 2019.
